What to Expect

At The Youth Center Summer Day Camp, safety is our first and foremost concern.  We want all of our campers to have a fun, challenging and enriching experience at camp - one that is memorable and fulfilling.  All campers are grouped by age/grade, and we provide the highest quality of structured program activities – including instructional and recreational swimming, arts and crafts, music, nature experiences, sports, field trips, games, talent shows and much more.

• We are small and we know our campers.
• Excellent staff/camper ratios.
• We emphasize safety and formally train our staff to be safety conscious.
• We are here to provide you with the comfort you need knowing your child is in a place that cares.
• Year round planning and staff.
• Enthusiastic, energetic staff that possess maturity and compassion.
• We practice tiered supervision of staff in order to best ensure that our philosophies are being carried through at every level.
• Kids in our day camp have a blast as they learn to care about themselves, each other and the environment.
• Regularly scheduled age appropriate field trips are part of our camp experience.  Special events are also planned throughout the summer.
• We offer swimming both instructional and recreational by certified staff and aids.  With regular attendance campers make great progress with their swim skills at all levels.
• We provide snack to campers and hydration is available to them throughout the day
• We are not a summer rec or extended year day care program. We offer a bona fide day camp and are licensed by the state of New Jersey.

This years theme is "Going on a treasure hunt", we would love to have your children join us for the adventure! Not sure yet, have questions? Give us a call or email us we would be happy to talk with you.

An Overview

hug

Our summer day camp runs for 10 individual
weeks from June 18 through August 24, 2012. The basic camp day runs from 9:00am–4:00pm with extended care available. We offer six core weeks of camp. During these six weeks campers are grouped according to age/grade and all follow a specific pre-planned schedule. The day is comprised of approximately 10 mods. Mods are blocks of time. Each group follows their own schedule and some of the typical offerings within each mod are as follows: swimming, nature, arts and crafts, sports, games and talent show rehearsals. Every Friday is a special day. We either present a talent show for the parents or the campers take part in a Camp Fire Friday where the whole camp participates in a mock camp fire with songs and stories and an afternoon of carnival style games with food and prizes.

In addition to the regularly scheduled days we also offer special event days, in house programs and age appropriate field trips throughout the summer. This type of planning is done far in advance by year round staff with attention to detail to ensure a well rounded, age appropriate, challenging and memorable program to be had by all.

Travel Weeks are offered after the conclusion of the
6 week traditional camp program. Daily field trips are scheduled to destinations such as parks, indoor recreation centers, swimming, bowling, movies, museums or other area attractions. Friday of both weeks will be reserved as a rain date or for pizza parties at The Youth Center. The fee includes all
admissions. Campers must provide their own lunch every day except the Fridays. Specific details and permission slip to follow. Limited enrollment accepted.

Hours
For all 10 individual weeks the basic camp day runs from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Extended care is offered between 7:00 - 9:00 am and/or 4:00 - 6:00 pm at which time a modified program will be offered.
Mini-Trekkers,Tues, Wed & Thur. 9:30–12 noon
